good boots
I agree with the half size, even though I am normally NOT one to order down on shoe size no matter what....I go the 8.5 instead of the 9, and the size is right. I wore them today for the first time, 3 hr hike "out of the box" in the French Alps, no problems.

The perfect all terrain supportive hiking boots!!!
I bought these boots to replace a pair of Vasque boots I had for seven years (It was time to get a new pair). These boots were comfortable right out of the box, and were very stable on varied terrain. I hiked a 12 mile section of the PCT the other day, and never slipped (excellent deep tread, never felt my ankle would turn over (broke one ankle twice, so need very good support), never had any hot spots, and like other reviews said there is the perfect space for when my feet swell a bit while hiking. I need a true 8.5 size, so I ordered the 8 which they do run a 1/2 size big were perfect. Also, they were stable on the varied terrain I hiked on (dips, loose rock and shale, very sleep inclines and declines, loose dirt, etc.). If you order a half size larger you will have a boot you can enjoy as much as i do. They are as comfortable as my old Vasque, and I use the green super feet inserts with them.

Excellent combination of style, comfort and utility
I ordered a half size down (8 rather than 8.5) and they fit perfectly. They are so stylish that I want to wear them all the time now. The longest hike I've done so far was three miles and they were great. No hint of any unwanted rubbing. Definitely recommended.

I have yet to use the boots on a big adventure, but while wearing them on test runs they are very comfortable. They are very well made and support my narrow feet very well. I have worn them in 20* weather and they kept my feet warm and dry. They also look very nice.

I love to hike. This boot is comfortable and appears to be durable. It provides the support and comfort I seek while climbing.
