My favorite brand
I can never go wrong with Keen. Although I normally wear a size 7, this boot runs a little small. I will be returning for a half size bigger, I do like the soft interior and the slender shaft. There is not much room for tucking in anything more than skinny jeans or leggings. A half size bigger should do the trick and also allow room for thicker socks. Like all my other Keen shoes, the toe box is roomy enough for my wide feet and has a removable footbed that I replace with my orthotics.
Great shoe
This shoe delivers! I was looking for something rugged and sturdy for all my outdoor play....on the way to the beach on a cold morning, on the way to the mountains keeping my feet warm before mountaing biking, on my bike on my way to yoga: it's just what I was looking for. I have Uggs and they have little to no support but this shoes is so comfortable that I never want to take them off! I live in So Cal and it is not snowing, just a little rain here and there, but I still enjoy a warm, protective shoe (Im always freezing!). Thank you Keen for making a fab shoe :)
Gotta love those Keens
Keens are the Only Shoes I wear. Although I might have a few to many. When looking for warm waterproof boots, the was no question they would be Keens. I did order a half size larger due to other reviewers and I knew I would want to be able to wear heavier sock. These are quite stiff and I hope will soften up with time. Only other issue is that I don't have real big calves but they are snug and I'm sure there are a lot of ladies out there with more muscular calves than mine that won't be able to zip these up.
Wearing it everyday
Count of my boots, I have been wearing this one in particular. The morning commute to work, waiting for the bus and train is a hazzle because it has been below 20 degree everyday, but this boots kept my feet warm. Thanks
Absolutely great winter boots
After several years of having health issues that tended to limit my outdoor activities, I have been trying to once more enjoy getting out in the winter weather here in Minnesota...I realized that I really did not have a suitable pair of winter boots for such activities and - after purchasing the Hoodoo shoe and another pair of Keen shoes(both of which I was pleased with) - I decided to try the Hoodoo high boot. I am so totally happy with these boots!! Considering that I have very difficult feet to fit(thin and 2 different sizes, orthotics - as well as a few issues like morton's neuroma), I can really say this is THE first boot I have found to be truly comfortable as well as quite functional. The lining is so soft and cushy; my feet have stayed quite warm so far, and I can wear these with or without my orthotics - a real plus to have room for them for that all day activity. They are lighter than I thought they would be and I like the simple design lines (they look nice under my jeans/pants) - they look great for either winter play but also for wearing out on a casual date. The zipper makes them easy on and off. Another review stated they seemed to be a bit slim in fit, and I do have fairly thin lower legs - they fit just fine under my jeans, but I actually was able to wear them over my fleece pants as well - a snug fit but doable. Guess you would have to consider the measurements if you have large calves. They also have great soles that have proven to give me great traction in the snow. For the most part, it feels as if I am not wearing a 'shoe' at all - I don't know how Keen does that! I knew they were really great the day I came home - forgot to take them off - and didn't realize it until and hour or so later when I was wondering why my feet and legs were so warm!!! I wear a size 9 Kaci shoe(and most of my other non-Keen shoes are a size 9), but have taken a 9.5 in both the Hoodoo shoe and high boot. I don't know how the outside exterior will hold up over time, but am expecting good things as the Hoodoo shoe has done very well. So far I am very pleased - and we have been having quite the winter here in Minnesota - LOTS of rain, slush, ice and snow. I have never had such a great winter boot - both for function, fit and comfort. Considering I have neglected/avoided wearing boots for the past number of years, I am now looking for excuses to put these on! I would totally recommend anyone to consider this boot!
