KEEN designed the water bootie Men's Gorge Boot for our paddler friends, but that doesn't mean it's only for them. The Gorge Boot is for anyone looking to keep cold out and comfort in. The 3mm neoprene keeps feet warm in the river (or any soggy place), the two strap system is easy to adjust even with frigid fingers, and the high traction outsole grips the most slippery surfaces. Aegis Microbe Shield controls the bacteria and fungi that cause odors, stains and product deterioration and is free of environmentally harmful substances.

Very well made boot. This boot will fit your needs as you venture into the woods, onto jet skis, and the rocky rivers that I rumble through. I get quite a few looks and questions on where I purchased them. Great so far. Definitely keeps the sand out.
The Boots, They Work
These boots work great for what I want, which is water shoes for doing research work in streams and rivers. The sole has a reasonably gripping tread, and the various fasteners hold the shoe on your foot (which isn't always the case). The fit is tight but not too tight; you should probably order a size larger than you might otherwise, especially if your feet are on the wide side. After 6 weeks of steady use they still look new, and even better, don't smell.
Just received but stoked to try
I just got these boots but they seem pretty stout. They are also my first pair of boots so I don't have much to compare them too. Overall, I'm not super impressed with the "lacing" system. I wish it could get tighter. I bought them larger so I could fit my drysuit in them. I do think they sole seems really solid, and I really like the "climbing" feature on the outside ball of the foot.
Swiftwater training
Used boot for swiftwater training. Wore it over dry suit sock with one inner sock. Easy to put on and close but it was a bit loose when it got wet. I might be better with 1 size smaller. Quality, look and feel were very nice.
I mostly creek boat and have been nursing a pair of Keen Payette booties for two seasons. I liked the style/design, but the durability and build quality were a little lacking. In addition, the multiple velcro straps made entry and exit a bit annoying. While shopping around for a replacement, I narrowed it down to the Keen Gorge boot and the 5.10 Canyoneers. This time around, I decided to give the Gorge boots a try, as they're less expensive and I don't need a full-on boot. When they first arrived, I was impressed with the build quality and overall rugged appearance. It is a creeking shoe/boot rather than a dressed up bootie. The soles are thick and the insole is a comfortable foam/rubber, opposed to the delicate neoprene fabric of the Payette. The Gorge is easy to get on/off with only two velcro adjustments. I am a little concerned by the slightly larger ankle opening letting in gravel and debris, but haven't put this to the test yet. I wear a size 9-9.5, but ordered the Gorge in a 10. The fit is good, with a little extra room for neoprene or dry-suit socks. I was expecting a little more ankle support and in this regard, they're a bit on the bootie side. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase and would recommend the Keen Gorge boot as a great alternative to the 5.10 Canyoneers.
