Great item
I got this gift for my adventurous boyfriends birthday. He tried them on and immediately loved them. He said they are extremely comfortable and good for a variety of outdoor water activities. They fit true to size. He also liked that they had cords to tighten the shoe and not laces. They look great!
Great fit, adjustable, comfortable, and good drainage.
Not sure what that other commenter was complaining about with the "toe box" maybe he/she has really narrow feet? I have what I would consider "normal" width feet and the toe box area is fine. Elastic band allows you to cinch the tightness of the shoe to meet your needs. Foot cradle is molded quite comfortably and has just enough give to make walking in them comfortable. When water seeps in through the mesh or through the gaps around the ankle... all debris is filtered out, and it seems tough to get even something like a pebble down into the shoe, if you have them cinched down correctly. I'd recommend this shoe to anyone that enjoys water recreation, especially for things like kayaking. And especially in water that might have a lot of stones, sticks, or otherwise unfriendly substrate to be walking on... since these shoes will keep your feet from getting cut, scraped, bruised, or otherwise injured.
Loved the shoes
Bought the shoe for my son. He loves them and they are very comfortable.
Great shoe, more toe room than expected
Being my first pair of Keen's, I was a little shocked at how much toe space there is. In the end I think that it will be a good thing. Great shoe for river rafting. I'll be putting it through the wringer on the Black River (NY) this summer, I'll post back on how they fared at the end of the season. I think that Keen could've worked on the fasteners more, I replaced them with laces from my old Merrell WaterPro's. Also, an additional strap across the top or for the heel would make it feel more secure. Nice chunky sole with good arch-support. So far, so good!
Almost perfect
In short, this is a great water shoe. The only reason I'm giving it 4 instead of 5 stars is because the Keen Men's Cimarron II Shoes out compete it. The quickdraw elastic lace is very handy, the toe protection is perfect, and the mesh will filter out anything from getting in the shoe. However, it could use quicker drying mesh, better drainage, and antimicrobial treatment. Lucky for you, all those improvements have been made in the second version of this shoe, mentioned above.
