I love this backpack
This is exactly what I have been looking for. I needed a general-purpose backpack that also allowed me to access my SLR camera without having to completely remove the backpack. This one works great! just drop the left shoulder strap and I can easily access the camera from the side pocket! The laptop compartment is also great. It doesn't take too much space when is not used but still provide a good padding when you slid your laptop. Bag is great size for a hike or bike ride carrying a camera, some food and a sweater. Pro: good construction. lightweight but sturdy, side entry, good straps. Cons: No side water bottle pockets, no waist strap, top pocket is kind of small. Overall the best backpack I could buy... too bad Keen has discontinued it
Pleasantly surprised
Love the side entry with the crescent zipper opening for easy access to and viewing of all contents. Roomy enough to handle my laptop and a couple of folders and textbooks. Without all the external pockets, this backpack is sleek enough to pass for a work bag without looking too juvenile. Seems like there are just enough small pockets to accomodate necessary accessories, but my one request for improvement would be to add a couple more small pockets. I like the chest strap as well; the metal clips will last forever, it has complete vertical adjustability, and it is removable. The straps and back seem well padded for comfort. The side handle and top handle are both convenient for lifting the bag from either position. Overall, great pack.
Good quality bag
This is not a small bag as commented by others. It's more of a medium size bag with a lot room for more than a notebook. It has a pocket on the top opening which includes a meshed pocket with a metal clip. The front has a small pocket that can house small miscellaneous items like cell phones, pens, etc. Inside has a two layer padded notebook holder, and a big meshed pocket. It's a bit on the heavy side if you're looking for a small light backpack.
Positive and Negative
The chest strap is horrible, I took it off immediately, I'll get some use out of them as compression straps on a stuff sack or something though, they have nice metal clips. I like the side zip computer sleeve, it offers easy access and lots of padding. This is a great laptop bag for college or high school.
Great commuter pack
I just got this pack and so far I love it. It fits a laptop, and a bunch of files from work and sits comfortably on my back. The straps and backrest part are super cushioned and although I stood for a good 3 hours today with the pack on, it felt like I had no weight on my shoulders. Stylish and hugs close to the body, which I love, since I don't really like large boxy packs that stick out a lot. Not a ton of pockets to stash stuff, but that's okay, I can still carry a purse. Unlike other reviewers, I liked the chest strap. It is adjustable, both vertically and horizontally so I just slid it up til it was a good fit.
