Just bought my 2nd Hiker
My first Hiker has literally been around the world: India, Canada, Rocky Mountains and it has never failed me. I've been on several back country trips and the Hiker easily satisfied the purified water needs of four people. I ended up giving this unit to my son and bought myself a new one!
Works Great !
Nice product does the job quickly and effectively, like the quick disconnect for the Camelbak .. Great to have on long mountain bike rides and hikes.
Great product!
Great product. Works as described and the best part is that it can be hooked up to filter water directly into your water bladder without having to take the water bladder out of your hiking pack.
Great Product that gives great tasting water!
I purchased the Hiker PRO Microfilter after carefully reviewing all other comparable brand lightweight water filters for backpacking. I received it quickly after ordering and was excited to use it on my upcoming trip. I took it out for a 2 day-20 mile overnight trip in Big Sur. Once we stopped for the night and set up camp, i whipped it out and put it to work. This little guy filters water fast! The pumping is easy with the nice sized handle that moves smoothly. The specs are true in the description, being that it's really lightweight and small, but has a great output. It did take a little getting used to in holding it firmly while being able to fill my canisters. The tube on the filter output end seems a little long, but I saw a video demonstration where someone cut it and I'm considering doing that. The input hose and debris filter worked great along with the adjustable floatie piece to keep it off of the creekbed floor. So the water? Tasted awesome! Clean, no aftertaste or carbon taste whatsoever. Cold and refreshing water that quenched my thirst, made my tea taste just perfect, and made my special oatmeal especially yummy! I'm looking forward to taking it out again soon.
convenient
Family of four for four days through over 27 miles in yosemite, we really made good use of this filter. It was so nice to be able to pump water when our bottles got warm and we wanted cold water to drink - a luxury in the backcountry!
