Awesome daypack!
This is a great pack, I love the full size waistbelt on a smaller pack, and great shoulder straps with lots of pockets on both. The hydration behind the back panel is also very convenient so I don't have to get the contents of the pack wet after refilling bladder at stream. I removed all the bungee cords off backpanel, some people may like these but I never use them.

Versatile daypack!
This is a very nicely designed day pack. It has an opened kangaroo pocket on the back, one large main compartment and one small zip up admin pocket. Shoulder straps are soft and breathable and have small pockets near the sternum strap. The hip belt is set up to be lower than the pack and gives a very comfortable feel when on. I also love the larger pockets on the hip belt that can fit anything from snacks to an ipod/phone (very handy).The Catalyst is extremely light weight and well built. The size is perfect for a quick day hike or can be used as a gym bag. It has no frame sheet which I view as a plus as this is meant to be for light/fast excursions. The water bottle pocket is protected with dense egg foam style padding to keep you cool and comfortable. Another pro is that the water bottle zips in and when not used the pocket can be used for extra storage. One last note.. on the picture of the catalyst pack in on the Atrec page it appears that the side water bottle pockets have some sort of hole stitched into them. This must have been a pre production run because the one that I received has 2 fully stitched water bottle pockets, another nice touch since now anything you put in there wont fall out. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a small, light, fast pack....
