A great casual coat
This is a great casual coat; clearly not intended for any real outdoorsing. But, if that's what you are looking for, it's very nice. The wool is very high quality, and is fine for moderate weather (some rain/some wind). The zipper system is a bit backward compared to other coats; given the flap of wool over the front (the double-breasted design), you have trouble getting your left hand in to hold the zipper to get it seated. But I've mostly been using just the buttons, and ignoring the zipper, so no real complaint. My only issue is the sizing; i'm somewhere between an L and and XL, but this coat (in XL) fits tight across my shoulders, and is pretty slender. So, I can't really wear a sport coat or blazer (over a shirt) and then fit into this coat. On the other hand, the sleeves are plenty long (almost too long), so moving to an XXL wouldn't work either. Don't get me wrong; I'm not going to return it, and this isn't a flaw. Just note that the sizing is a bit slim/small.

odd fit
like another reviewer mentioned, these jackets have an odd fit. i desperately wanted to love this jacket and keep it. it's exactly what i've sought. ultimately i returned it though. it fit really big in the chest and quite narrow in the shoulders. i'm 6'4" 205lbs. 41" chest. i like my clothes quite fitted. wear medium in icebreaker short sleeve tops and large in their long sleeve tops. i often tailor items to fit. this jacket has such an odd fit that tailoring would alter the style too much. great concept in jacket and poor execution!! quite bummed cause i reeeeally wanted to keep this jacket. really!! this jacket may work well for someone with relatively narrow shoulders and large torso. perhaps, icebreaker will update in the future.

Great Coat But Really Strange Sizing
I really really wanted to get this coat to work for me, but unfortunately the sizing wouldn't allow it. I'm 6' tall and 170lbs, so I'm relatively slender, but the medium was just way way too big in the body. I tried the small just to compare, and the cut was much better for me, although the width across the shoulders was too small. The sleeve length is generous, with even the sleeves on the small more than accommodating my 34/35 length arms (I wear a 34/35 sleeve length in a dress shirt). The material and the look of this coat is fantastic, and unmatched by any coat I've seen, but the cut just wouldn't allow it to work for me. If you're anything other than quite round through the midsection, or unless you like your coats really baggy, I'd say this won't work for you. The construction of it would allow it to be altered to bring the sides in, but this only adds cost. Icebreaker has the foundation for what could be a fantastic coat, if only they can get the sizing and cut right. Hopefully better luck with next year's model.
