Forget every misperception you have about wearing wool against bare skin--this is the real deal.
If the thought of wearing traditional wool against your bare legs makes your skin crawl, update your wardrobe and your understanding of baselayer technology with this Ibex Woolies Bottom. Whether you ski, snowshoe or skate, most silky baselayers don't offer enough heat retention while other midweight microfleece can feel stifling. The Ibex Woolies Bottom is a natural alternative to technical synthetic fabrics and it doesn't rub you the wrong way when you wear it against your skin. This Woolies Bottom features Ibex's proven 18.5 micron Merino wool fabric, a great lightweight rib material that's machine washable and incredibly soft. Unlike fabrics that are chemically treated to facilitate moisture transfer, Merino wool is naturally moisture wicking, so you never lose the performance no matter how many times you launder. The cut is contoured to hug your legs without pushing other winter layering possibilities out of the way. Find out what hikers, climbers and anglers have known for several years--this Ibex Woolies Bottom features a soft texture that's anything but baa-a-a-a-d.

Ibex is awesome
I bought these to go with the Woolies top i bought and could not be happier. It's not real thick, in fact it's almost see-thru, but it keeps me warm and it doesn't stink! I don't know how it does it but merino is awesome. Go natural you won't regret it.
Keep you warm!
On the chilly day hike, I never go without this bottom as base. It keeps you warm and dry at the same time. Great buy for sure.
Best of the Best!
I've used Icebreaker 200 weight tights before this - they wore holes through the knees within about a year of (rough) use. Perhaps expected, but I was a bit disappointed. However, I have an Ibex woolies shirt which I've had for probably 2 years now and has been worn through all kinds of insane bushwacking trips - from cactus crunching through Big Bend in 100+ plus temps to glissading down snowfields in Jasper this fall - and is still in awesome shape! No holes, no piling, and fits like a glove. I just picked up the matching Woolies tights and these feel as burly as the top. They do fit a little small, I usually wear a men's small but wear a medium in Ibex's stuff. I tried them out near Donner pass snowshoeing (underneath some Patagonia Traverse pants) yesterday and they kept me warm, and most importantly, dry. Nice! I think Ibex makes the best Merino wool - their stuff is soft, super versatile, and BURLY. If you're looking for Merino long underwear tights that are versatile and indestructible these are them! There really are no negatives - Woolies are pretty much my most essential kit.
Great product
Fits great. I normally buy wool long underwear and this fits the bill for quality, warmth, and not a cheap itchy poor product. I live in one of the top three coldest cities in the U.S. so long underwear is a must and I would recommend this brand. I have found it to be well worth spending a little extra cash on good winter product and these are very reasonably priced compared to some of the other better brands.
Ain't no stink on me
In addition to being lightweight, these are highly breathable, giving them a wide functional temperature range. Best of all, they don't succumb to the funky stench that synthetics do. What more could you ask for?
