Nice Pack!
I have been tossing around purchasing either the Pinnacle or the Jam and finally decided on the Pinnacle for the extra room. Other reviewers are correct in stating that this pack has a LOT of room! I can see how it would be tempting to load the kitchen sink in this pack but keep in mind it's frameless. With this in mind it probably wouldn't be wise to load it with more than 25 pounds(This is an ultralight pack anyway). Base load of 12-15 pounds and 3 or 4 days of food are no problem. It can also be compacted with the Compactor System to allow for securely carrying smaller loads. Overall I'm pleased with the simple design, build and light weight of this pack. Altrecs super fast shipping and great service are a plus as well!
Golite Pinnacle Backpack!
I am just starting to cut down on my backpacking weight. My old pack weighed 5lbs. This one weighs less than 2lbs. I was able to get all of my necessities, including my large bear canister into this new pack. It is very durable compared to others on the market. You do need to go to the Golite website to find out the capacity size of the pack. The front pocket is great for holding things you need frequently such as your water filter and crocs if you are doing a number of stream crossings. Only drawback. Not many places to lash things down, but I guess that is a trade off for the lighter weight packs. Also, I needed to work with the pull straps (like the ones in front of the pack) quite a bit to tighten them down to my body. Perhaps they will move more easily over time. All in all I recommend this pack if you are trying to cut down on weight.
Saggy
If your buying this pack for a weekend trip don't plan on loading more than 15 lbs. Found this pack to be very saggy when more than 15 lbs was loaded. Needs to have an aluminum or composite frame that supports the packbag from the inside.
