Lighter than a standard sleeping mat, the Exped Synmat 7 sleeping pad uses baffled air channels filled with microfiber material to improve comfort, warmth and compressibility. Quick mat inflation happens via an integrated pump that saves your lungs for the camp fire or for the next morning's dawn patrol.

Dreamy sleep
Three nights camping in Colorado mountains, and I can easily say I got the best sleep I've ever had sleeping on the ground. I have the extra large version because I am 6'5" and figured a few more ounces to carry are worth it for better sleep. So right! Inflation pump takes a few minutes, but does the job and isn't bothersome when sleeping. I slept with my 15 degree bag open over me and the Synmat under me. Never would have done that without the insulation. Not slippery or loud. I loved the thickness for hips and shoulders to sink in deep.
Very compact yet very thick.
I plan on using it while touring on a motorcycle this summer. I need something small yet able to provide good insulation for cold climates and lots of padding to sleep on. I was not sure whether the new NeroAir from Thermarest would be a better mat, but I can assure for the little more space that this takes up it would choose this mat over any Thermarest product.
Great piece of gear
Got one of these pads for mountaineering. It is much more comfortable and easy to inflate than the other pads I have used in the past. Highly recommend picking one up.
As good as advertised!
I got the Synmat 7 in June on a whim. I took it to the Grand Tetons for 5 of the best trail nights ever - sleepwise. The extra thickness made all the difference. And the SynMat 7 fits my Thermarest Chair!
