It is awesome expecially for someone in the military
My family ordered this item for my sister who is a Marine and stationed in Afghanistan. We searched high and low to find something for her that would be light enough but yet padded enough to put ontop of her cot, not mention the added bonus that it retains heat ( as it gets very cold there where she is stationed). This is the best product we have ever come across. I highly recommend this product to anyone and everyone and I assure you that it is well worth the money. If you are going to order it from anyone I suggest ordering it from this company, the staff with Altrec are OUTSTANDING!!!! This item and company rock and they help make our troops comfortable in such horrible conditions. MANY MANY Thanks to you and this product.

Great product for its intended use
Just got back from a fall fly fishing trip to tree line in the rockies (overnight temps below freezing). I'm 6'2" and 200 lbs, cold sleeper. This isn't a lightweight, compact backpacker mat, but I didn't expect it to be (for minimum weight summer use, I use the Thermarest Neo Air). This pad takes up as much pack space as my sleeping bag, and it's heavy. It also takes a while to inflate. It is, however, the warmest, most comfortable mat I've used. If you are trying to extend the temperature range of your 35 degree bag, just orient the down to the upper side of the baffles. Also, if you plan on winter camping, this mat will be a nice addition to your collection. It is extremely warm. I also found it easy to fine tune the firmness of the mat (it can easily inflate to an uncomfortably hard surface). Dialing back the firmness had no impact on warmth. It is also a great mat for side sleepers. Slick, microfiber bags will shift some on the mat overnight, but no more so than other mats. It's not particularly tacky on the sleeping surface. I believe the mat is solidly constructed - it's not delicate. This is the best mat for its intended purpose - warm and comfy. But I wouldn't (and didn't) choose it as "one mat' solution in all situations. I would purchase this mat again, and I did recommend it to a friend.

great product
Just returned from a week canoeing the noire river in Quebec. I am 6'2" & 340 lbs The pad performed great and was comfortable. In the reviews some say it is difficult to pump up, I agree, but found an easy way to do it! I stood up and used my bare foot to operate the pump and it worked great. You need to make sure the air openings are sealed tight. Very glad to have it.

Comfortable Warm and Innovative Pump
After testing this against the thicker Thermarest pads, this is a keeper. Much smaller when packed, lighter, thicker, warm and comfortable pads with quick and easy to use built-in pump. Perfect for camping!

GREAT PAD A LITTLE HARD TO PUMP UP
This is a very comfortable mat. I have used a Therm-a-rest for years and will never go back. I think the storage bag/pump was a better idea.
