Finally, there is a mountain bike pack that offers true multi-sport functionality. The Trans Alpine 25 from Deuter is a mountain bike pack that doubles as a quality daypack for any activity. The pack uses the Airstripe back panel ventilation system, 3M reflective patches and mesh wing hip belt. The zipper-access main compartment is dividable and big enough for the food and extra layers that a full-day ride demands. There is a neoprene helmet holder, a dedicated map pocket and side mesh pockets. Of course, the pack is hydration compatible, and it even includes an integrated, brightly colored rain cover.
Purchase USD$45 or more and get free shipping. The Deuter Trans Alpine 25 Backpack is available through Altrec.com.
A great pack but smaller than expected
I checked out these Trans Alpine packs and watched the Deuter videos, and both the 25 and 30 looked gigantic on the backs of the "models," but the 25 seems too small for me: 5'10, 208, XL shirt. The pack is great, but I'm going to get the Trans Alpine 30 in exchange. Altrec is a quality operation.
