Deuter Hydro lite 3.0 & Streamer Thermo Bag 3.0
I bought the Hydro lite 3.0 hydration pack for RAGBRAI this year. I added ice in the mornings and once throughout each day. I had cold water each day, all day, in ~ 90 F temperatures for 8 hours per day. I just received the Streamer Thermo Bag to be compatible with the hydration pack reservoir and my back pack for hiking. The Streamer Thermo Bag appears to have the same thermal lining as the Hydro lite hydration pack so I expect the same great results. Can't wait to try it out on hiking trips (though there's no ice in the back country). The reservoir with the hydration pack or thermo bag are supposed to work with both warm or cold liquids. All the Deuter products I've tried have been very high quality.
Great product - kep my water cool all day! This wraps around your reservoir and fist well into your back pack. I even put a beer can in it with cold water and it chilled my beer pretty well!
Luxury of hiking
I've used my streamer thermo bag only once on a day trip. It was 20 KM walking at the weather was around 20 degrees celcious. While others in the group drinking from plastic bottles which got warmer and warmer as we walked by I had the comfort or should I say luxury of drinking my cold water. It is very light, perfect fit to 3LT streamer, very convenient...
Streamer Thermo Bag 3.0 l
I purchased this product in June 2010 to use with my Deuter hydration system for road cycling. WOW!!!! We had a very hot summer this year with 30 - 35 days above 95. My practice has always been to fill the bladder with ice before my ride at 6 am. When refilling the bladder with water along the way I noticed that there was always ice. Even at 4 pm on a ride where the thermometer read 104 F 10 hours later I had ice remaining. I almost cannot wait to this product with warm water for my winter rides! A Caemlbak bladder will also fit.
