Tall Waterproof
Biggest reason to buy is the enormous amounts of deep snow we have been getting and not wanting any more snow in my boots. These are great, fit perfect -seem true to size - I purchased a size 8, and will definitely keep the mounds of snow away from my ankles. Initially wondered if the laces were 'real' or if they were just for show..Fortunately the laces are just for show so there is no way snow will get in these boots unless it comes in over the top. No issue with the fit, the calf is great - not too tight at all. The inside is nice and warm. This is about the only thing I am looking forward to with the pending winter...rockin these boots. They are just too cute!

Just what I was looking for!
Keep in mind that it is August here in New England so I can't comment on the waterproof quality of these shoes. That being said, the warm furry inside appears that it will keep feet very warm in winter. I turned on my air conditioner full blast and walked around in these for about a half hour to make sure they fit well. They are true to size and I had no trouble fitting them over my calves, even with ski socks on. There was still enough room to wear a skinny jean with them. Granted, I'm fairly small (5'2", 105 lbs), but I am in shape. If you have very very athletic built calves you may have trouble, but the average person should find that these boots provide a great fit! They are also super easy to get on and off with the zip side. I can't wait to wear them to the slopes this winter!

Bought these for my daughter, who really needs waterproof, durable winter boots for her daily commute, which includes walking to and from the train. They look stylish and the reputation of Columbia for durable winter wear is above reproach, BUT my daughter could not get them over her calves. With knee-high boots, this is a problem! She is athletic--not overweight!-- but could not even pull them on all the way to walk around. I suggest you put the calf circumference in the product description for others with a similar body build. She sooo wanted (and needed) these. I will say that, thankfully, the return process was painless. Will definitely order again from Altrec.
