Along with sunrise over the Wasatch or powder exploding like freshly opened bubbly, softshell materials can be savored as one of natures true miracles. The Wildcard III jacket combines the warmth and weather resistance of hard shell with the lightweight coziness and comfort of your favorite fleece or hoody.

Great Jacket (but size down)
I really like this jacket. Sometimes Columbia items don't seem to be at quite the same level of quality as, for example, The North Face or Patagonia (which I think are sometimes a bit over priced simply because of their name). I don't get the slightest hint of lower quality with the Wildcard softshell when compared with jackets designed to be put to the same uses by these other companies. I trust my Wildcard to be comfortable in all but the most extreme conditions. This jacket works well from about 35-40 (F), all the way down to zero. In fact, in the upper temperatures within that range the lack of underarm ventilation may be a problem for those who sweat easily. The Wildcard III fits BIG. I'm 6'2, 205, and usually wear XL, including in a Columbia 3-in-1 that I've had for a couple of years. I had to send the XL back for an L. The XL fit like an XXL. I mean, it was enormous - everywhere. The L is not the least bit tight anywhere, unlike size Large in most other brands, or in the Large Columbia 3-in-1. If in the middle, I'd recommend sizing down, and perhaps even considering a full size smaller than you normally wear.
Great Jacket
Received acket on a Friday, wore on the slopes Saturday. Temps in the mid 20s. Wore only light weight t-shirt under it. Stayed warm. Wasn't snowing so can't say how water protection would've been, but own other Columbia Omni tech and have never had issue before.
Excellent Jacket
Purchased this as a lite winter jacket, hoping that it would be warm and lite. I have a Columbia jacket with a liner, but it works better as an early Fall/late Spring jacket and is either not heavy enough (without liner) or too bulky (with liner), so I was looking for something plain to wear through the winter (~15 - 40 degrees) and still be comfortable. So far, this has been an excellent purchase. Very comfortable and not bulky at all. Stays warm, very good in the wind. Haven't had heavy rain to test how waterproof it is, as this was a problem with my other jacket, heavy rain penetrates after about 10 minutes and soaks through leaving you damp. I would definitely recommend this jacket, it is exactly what I was looking for and I like the velcro on the front, which actually holds the jacket closed without having to zip it up and down. Good price too.
Nice Jacket
Overall a nice coat. Was not sure about large vs. XL. Went with the large fits good. I'm 5'11, 190. The Jacket is very warm and light weight. I picked it up on discount here and could not be happier with my purchase.
Got this coat about 2 months ago, then it got really cold around here. It's been awesome, it maintains the warmth and resists the bone chilling winds. The lining in the hood is a neat feature which keeps your ears warm. The material on the chin is nice too. It's the best coat I've bought so far. Another plus is the inner coat, which is lightweight and great for those milder days
