Long Sleeve 4 Hiking and Cycling
I like this shirt so much I bought three of them. I like the colors and it seems to not wear out after each wash, so I am pretty happy with this product. I live in a humid area, so anything that will aid me in keeping dry is a plus. Buy it while it is on sale. ;)
Wow, great all around shirt...
I purchased these intending to use them as a layer during cold weather bicycling. I was especially interested in this item b/c of the thumbhole. I ordered one of each color and couldn't be happier. The material has the softness of cotton but the quickdry qualities of less comfortable fabrics. Beyond the function, the shirts are very stylish and casual. I couldn't be happier and I was also grateful that I found these shirt at altrec using the search term "thumbhole". I didn't have luck at many other places online.
another great Columbia shirt
Rarely find fault with Columbia. This was great undershirt on recent trip to Boston, where morning temps were in low 40's with a brisk Boston harbor wind. It, along with a lightweight fleece jacket (also Columbia), were plenty warm. It's very comfortable, soft, lightweight and doesn't restrict your movement. 2 thumbs up for sure
Great Shirt!
This shirt is excellent in every way. It wicks sweat well and is great on the trails. I wear it mostly mountain biking and it does a great job. It's more substantial than most polyester shirts, which I really like. Furthermore, it is a great casual shirt that looks good with a pair of jeans. If you're considering getting this shirt--do so. You won't regret it.
Columbia's Ultra Stop Long Sleeve Crew
I wore one of these shirts during a canyoneering class in Utah and was impressed. The long sleeve (UPF 15) protected me from the sun, and shirt was warm enough in the morning chill and was still comfortable to wear as the day heated up. Polyester is the fabric of choice for outdoor activities because of breathability, wicking away moisture, and being quick to dry. Some polyester shirts are extremely thin and almost "slinky or slick feeling" but this shirt is "thicker feeling," which is why I like it so much (perhaps because it is doubleknit). The thumb holes are convenient for preventing a long sleeve from riding up your arm when putting on outer layers. Finally, the seams are placed so as not to ride on the very tops of the shoulders. I haven't used the shirt long enough to comment on its durability, but there was no significant shrinkage after one wash.
