Great shorts: light, quick dry.
Finally, a replacement for the Columbia shorts that I purchased about three years ago. I fell in love with those, and purchased about 10 pairs. They are now falling apart (due to much use, not due to poor workmanship) and need replacement. Of course, they don't make the same shorts anymore. These seem to be the closest replacement. What I like: 1. The fabric is very light and dries very quickly. I hate heavy fabric in shorts. When I want heavy fabric, I wear jeans. 2. The inseam (if you go with the 12" option) is long enough. I feel like a basketball player from the 70s when I wear shorts with a 9" inseam. 3. Actual belt loops! There is a belt included if you like, and it is actually OK. But I prefer my own belt, and these shorts allow me to remove the one that is supplied and use mine. 4. Zippered rear pocket. I travel and pickpockets have unsuccessfully tried to rob me because of zippered pockets like this. 5. Zippered front pocket. I like to know that my cell phone isn't going to escape. 6. Other pockets. OK, I don't really use them. But they are there. Normally I would hate the "flap" tops to the pockets because they would curl coming out of the wash (and I'm not going to iron shorts), but they don't curl because of the lightweight fabric. 7. Bathing suit? You don't need no stinking bathing suit! They look like regular shorts, but perfect for swimming. One less thing to pack. 8. I've only had these a little while, but I feel OK in rating the durability as they seem to be the same fabric as the other shorts I have. They lasted quite a while, but eventually gave up the ghost. But they took a lot of abuse along the way. So still a "5". One caveat: I normally wear a size "L" in Columbia shorts (my waist is around 35-36 inches). In these, the "L" was way too big. The "M" was perfect.
My favorite shorts !
I have owned several pairs of these shorts over the last few years. and they still sit on the top of the stack of shorts I've collected. That way they are the first pair I grab in the morning. I have two or three pair in four different colors. I can wear them just about anywhere, the newer ones out with my grilfriend and the faded ones to work. They dry quickly and actually fade to a lighter color after a couple years of use, but are extremely durable and tear resistant.
BEST SHORTS I EVER OWNED
I have had several Columbia cargo shorts but these are THE BEST! I intend to order several more including a pair for my teenage grandson who is a Boy Scout. He thinks they will be great on canoing and whitewater trips as well as camping.
Always satisfied with the Columbia Brand
I purchased 2 pairs of the silver ridge cargo shorts, and was greatly satisfied with the quality of the shrts. Everything fits to a tee. Will order more from your company as we are very satisfied.
Well made; good fit
I own several pairs of these shorts in every color. They are lightweight, comfortable, look sharp, fit well and last forever. Mine have been through the wash repeatedly and still look good.
