Keep progression in your crosshairs in a jacket that pushes the limits along with you. The First Descents II Parka is a premium technical piece that steps it up with sweet style, advanced Omni-Heat warmth, and a host of other foul-weather-fighting artillery. Omni-Tech waterproof-breathable fabric on the shell creates a wet-stopping barrier between you and the elements, while critical seams on the shoulders and chest are sealed to stop moisture short. Omni-Heat thermal reflectivity on both the shell and the zip-in Interchange liner employ emergency space blanket technology to capture and retain your body heat while still breathing and wicking interior moisture.

The liner is also water-repellent and sports Omni-Heat thermal insulation, which has a soft, down-like feel and even more lightweight warming power. A removable powder skirt keeps out the deepest powder, and then harmlessly snaps to the jackets lining when not needed. The attached, adjustable storm hood features ingenious side stretch panels that make it super easy to pull on over your hat and goggles. Underarm vents zip open to disperse excess heat, and zip-closed hand and security pockets are rendered nearly invisible thanks to Invizzip.

Very Goooood~
I bought this jacket for my dad, he has huge belly, this jacket can cover his belly totally. Good quality with breathable back. It's not rain yet, so....don't konw if it's hurricane water proof.

Amazing Ski Jacket
I purchased the Powder Bowl Parka after much deliberation between the available Omni-Heat models. I was primarily looking for something I could take on a ski trip to North Carolina's Sugar Mountain Resort. I found the Columbia sizing chart easy to use. Based on my measurements of a 43" chest I chose the Large. I found its fit to be perfect for my body, especially using the inner liner jacket and a base layer. It works great as separate pieces too. I kept my iPhone 3GS inside of the velcro pocket with see through window. When I needed the time, it was easy enough to zip down a bit and press the home button to get the time displayed through the lining. Awesome stuff. There's room and pockets for everything you could possibly think of. You can tell that whoever designed this jacket knows what they're doing. It turns out that it wasn't all that cold, being in the 50's and 60's. I was impressed at the venting and the fact that I wasn't overly hot. I didn't wear the liner for two of the three days I was there and the coat still wore great and didn't feel too big without the liner. I can't recommend this enough. If you like the style and need something warm with a lot of pockets for accessories then it doesn't get much better.

Fits a woman too
I was one of the persons who got the chance to test this jacket in Columbia's freeze room. I wore it at -15 degrees fahrenheit for 5 minutes and it really kept me warm. I also wore their gloves and hat. Columbia makes jackets for women, too. Unfortunately they look like for schoolgirls, the colors are boring, so I had to have this men's. I bought size "small" and it fits me. The inside jacket could be a little bit bigger, it sits very tight and I shouldn't gain any weight. Besides that I love it.

Very Warm Jacket
I was looking for a jacket when I realized that my heavyweight fleece just wasn't quite enough on the -25 degree F mornings. This has never failed to keep me toasty. The synthetic liner is warmer and lighter than a fleece, and, if I actually am on the ski slopes the shell alone is usually enough to keep me dry and warm enough.

Hot Jacket!!!
For my job I spend 5-7 days a week on the hill taking photos and producing media for the Summit at Snoqualmie. This means ether I am charging down the mountain keeping up with Professional skiers or sitting in a icy hole waiting for them to drop in. This said I have not been cold once this season while wearing this jacket. It truly is amazing how warm it is.
