great all purpose bike pants
If you want a pear of bike pants for casual riding around town or on trails this is the perfect pair of pants. You can wear these without looking like you have a Halloween costume on. The cuffs gather for when you are riding and then you can easily release them for when you're off the bike and walking around. Great styling and great price.

An Adequate Outdoor pant
I purchased these to have a shell that will keep me dry (hopefully) as I commute by bike in all seasons. This is my first go around with winter commuting so this is my cheap route before I know what it's really like. I received these in the mail last week and have already used them a few times because of rain. Definitely worked in the light rain although I have my doubts about anything more although that is still yet to be tested. The fit is right on although I am a true 33X32 (6' 180 lbs). I had to go for the 34X34 which fit great (I wear them over jeans) on the waist and were about 2" too long. I had them hemmed and now they fit like I want them to. The velcro loops are just fine although it would be nice to have something that zips. May just be wishful thinking. The material is comfortable and seems durable. Again that is to be tested but for now I'm looking forward to using them more.

Great pants but oversize...
Bought a 32" cyclocross II. Excited to receive the package; pants feels good, stitching is superb, good comfort & quality, true to item description but only big qualm is the sizing. it meausres 34" at the waist. This is in contrary to the sizing chart posted at Columbia site and Altrec site. Very weird. But will pass on this pants and maybe get a 30" one (i measured 32" below belly button). Would be a bonus if Altrec or Columbia could provide more than the usual refund process...
