Warm mitten, well made, good buy
Down mittens seem to be a rare item. All of the expedition quality mittens and most other higher quality ones are insulated with Primaloft or some other proprietary synthetic insulation. These are an exception, and they are very well done. I bought them for winter bicycle commuting. They aren't too bulky for shifting and braking. They have kept my hands toasty warm down to 29 degrees (the coldest it has gotten here this winter not including the biking produced wind chill). Some reviewers express dissatisfaction about this mitten because it has internal finger dividers. "Not a true mitten," they write. Maybe so, but, this mitten works. I have never had warmer hands riding. Other notes: The leashes are easily removable. The gauntlet closure uses one side of the drawstring to close, the other side to open. It took me a few baffling minutes to figure that out.
