slim legs, large waist, runs large, won't shrink
It took about 2 minutes for a (girl) friend to notice and exclaim, "So they're making sexy lady Carhartt's now!" It goes without saying they're quality construction, the lighter 10.5 oz denim is still very durable, but more comfy and not as stiff as the old school 12 oz weight of some other carhartts. I washed and dried these jeans on high heat a couple times, but I don't think they really shrunk at all, not even in the generous 34" length. Regarding fit: I'd call my washed/dried size 2 as having slim legs, a hip size that matches the Carhartt size chart for a 6 or 8, and a waist size that matches size 8 or 10 on the chart. Specifically, my waist is 29", hips are 37", thigh circumference about 20". I got the size 2, and both hips and waist feel big, though the legs are perfect (I like the close fit on the thigh, but wouldn't want them any slimmer). With the sz 2 jeans laid out flat, I measured the waist at roughly 31-32", the hips at about 39-40", and the leg hole (at about 3" below the crotch at about 20". This doesn't match the size chart very well, which notes that size 2 is for someone with 25" waist and 35.5" hip.
