Great Daypack
Great size for day hikes with 1-2 people. 3L capacity, along with side pouches for additional bottles. No problems so far with the bladder, which most others say will be pretty reliable for a few years, so we're looking forward to it. Plenty of space for rain gear, maps, food, extra water, anything you could need. nice compartments to keep some of the smaller items from getting lost at the bottom too. The sunglasses pocket is an interesting idea even if its not the most useful feature.

I am a fan of Camelback products, this backpack is right in the spot for a day activity, with the water bag or without. I use it for biking, when I do long rides, just perfect

nice pack
This is a great go between pack, bigger than what I use for mountain biking (just bladder and tools), but small enough that it works well for day hiking when you want to be mobile; plus is cinches down well so if you're not using space, it feels like less on your back. I'm replacing an older day pack that always felt too wide. This more narrow fit allows for better rock scrambling, moving faster, etc.

A Mixed Bag
Mostly positives, here. The pack itself is great. Its compact exterior belies its spacious interior; you can really get a lot in there. The layout is nice--well organized but simple. In addition to the spacious main compartment, lies a front pocket lined with smaller organizational pockets. The reservoir pocket is well-insulated. It is also separated from the rest of the bag, accessible by a zipper behind the back panel. You don't have to fumble with your other gear to get it in and out, when refilling, and it won't saturate your gear with condensation. It has a very handy fleece-lined pocket on top, for electronics, sunglasses or whatever. It seems very durable and well-made. The back padding is smart; substantial but well ventilated. The hydration reservoir is, hands down, probably the best design out there. It hooks into the pack, perfectly, to keep it from collapsing. The hose snaps right off and back on to make the refilling process hassle-free. I haven't figured out the drying arms, yet, but it seems to open up well for when it comes time for cleaning and drying. Also, I lo-o-ove the color: basic black. I can't stress this enough. Why do so many pack companies elect to go with such hideous colour schemes? Neon banana? Pastel blue? There were a couple of problems for me, however. This is a narrow pack, designed to allow increased mobility for a fast-paced day hike or long bike ride. But, the placement of the wide, substantial shoulder straps causes them to press into my neck, which has the potential to become increasingly irritating, the longer the venture. I felt that they could have been set a little wider apart or angled out more. Also, this is a one-size-fits-all, and it seems too long for my 5' 9" frame. I have a bit of a booty for a guy, and it seems to sit on my rear instead of forming itself to the lumbar area. No adjustments seem to improve the fit for me. I've yet to hit the trail with it because I'm debating whether the fit issues offset all those positives enough to garner a return. If it fits you, this is a real bargain for a daypack. Many bags with this much pack space and thoughtful features would cost you substantially more.

Packbacker Special
The Rim Runner is a very good pack for the trail that will accomodate your needs for a good three day walk about. Light, durable with plenty of room for your trail needs. It rides easy on your shoulders and is a comfortable carry.
