Some mild-mannered jibbing snowboards are built tough but sacrifice performance features for extra reinforcement materials--but that's not the case for Burton's Hero snowboard. It's a three-stage-rocker, all-mountain jibbing board with a responsive Super Fly Core and rugged stainless steel Pressure Distribution Edges. The Hero's Super Fly wood core is a strategic balance of lighter woods in specific areas for better response and denser woods where support is essential. If you had x-ray vision you could see that the wood grain along the toe and heel edges runs perpendicular to the rest of the wood core in a design called DualZone Edge Grain Direction, a process that enhances edging while adding durability. Burton enhanced the rigidity by wrapping Triax Response fiberglass around the wood core to help improve the grip along the Pressure Distribution Edges. Burton's proven Pressure Distribution Edges extend out along the binding area for better grip in icy or hardpack areas where other competitor boards tend to slip or shudder. Along these edges are Burton's 10:45 sidewalls, a durable sidewall construction that features two angles to help absorb impact and abuse without messing up the performance. 10:45 sidewalls are ideal for aggressive riders who want to push their trick limits, and developing riders who want a performance all-terrain snowboard that can withstand the abuse of mastering challenging terrain.
