Going big always looks good on the big screen, but few in your audience (except perhaps you) ever realize the full impact shock of the landings--even the ones that are perfectly stomped. While some binding designers pile on the padding, other companies like Burton realize there is a micro-fine line between binding padding and responsiveness, and that's why they got everything right when they made this new C60 EST binding. The C60 EST features Burton's new MegaBED Cushioning System, a composite platform atop cushioned EVA columns. Burton compares it to off-road shocks for rally cars, but the good thing is that you minimize landing impacts without losing touch with the feeling of the terrain and snow conditions beneath your board. The C60 EST also features Burton's new Cored Ultrastrap Air. It's a high-end ankle strap that was hollowed out and filled with encapsulated air padding to minimize weight and (more importantly) improve response. What we like is the comfort on the Cored Ultrastrap Air. Tighten it up if you need to feel it's there, but this is the sort of performance binding that when sized and adjusted, you can easily wear all day without enduring excess foot fatigue. The carbon Living Hinge Hi-Back is the same one found on Burton's best high-end bindings from seasons past so you can adjust your forward lean completely independent from your high-back rotation for a fit that's all your own. Remember that unlike the traditional C60 binding, the C60 EST is developed exclusively for Burton snowboards with The Channel binding interface built in to the snowboard. Be sure that you pair this binding with The Channel system.
