It looks great apres ski and cranks up the heat when the mountain is especially cold; the Arc'teryx Women's Hercules Hoody is everything you ever wanted in an insulating piece. Underneath the smooth, pill resistant outer face is a high loft shaggy fleece interior that not only keeps you warm but offers excellent breathability for self-propelled backcountry excursions. The hood is adjustable and includes a laminated brim, while articulated elbows offer unrestricted arm movement. Loaded with pockets, the Arc'teryx Hercules Hoody includes two hand pockets, and one sleeve pocket, all with sleek, laminated zippers. It also includes two internal pocket bags which are great for keeping items warm, such as a camera, on especially chilly days.

FANTASTIC jacket!
Love, love, love this jacket! I love the quality and fit of arcteryx and have been stalking this hoody for a few months. I was wary of the high price tag but was able to get it on sale. It is absolutely worth the money. Beautifully made, very warm for chilly fall days. It is sturdily constructed to withstand rough terrain. The fit is fantastic: figure flattering but constructed to move with you on the trail. I bought the magenta color and it is gorgeous. As with everything in this brand, it runs small. I wear a 10 to 12 in street clothes and needed a large and there is not much room left for layers.
Awesome!
I am a diehard fan of Arcteryx. The majority of my stuff is from this company because the quality is impeccable. This is one of those instances where paying more will definitely get you better quality. I own the Theta AR, Fission SV, Gamma AR, and other articles of clothing from Arcteryx and I simply cannot get enough! I bought this jacket in May 2010 when it was the Hercules, but I think they only changed the name and nothing else besides color availability (I have the gray which has been discontinued). You will feel the wind when wearing this coat because it is not windproof, but I usually wear a merino wool baselayer under it which takes the bite out of the cold. The hood is awesome...lined with fleece like the rest of the coat. I have been living in Anchorage, AK for the last 3 months and I have worn this coat with a 260g baselayer + t-shirt and have been warm in 4 deg F (but I was also speed walking to work instead of just standing around). Since it is not windproof or waterproof, it is very breathable for active pursuits. I walk everyday to work with a heavy bookbag and have not seen any rubbing or wear on this jacket....like I said, Arcteryx is awesome and in my opinion, the pinnacle of the "outdoor" world. One thing I would have added to this coat that it does not have is an inside pocket because I love those. Regardless of the missing inside pocket, this coat is amazing! I saw it on sale somewhere and was actually thinking of getting another one! Buy it now so you can start wearing it in 5-7 days! Sizing: Majority of Arycteryx stuff is made for a more athletic/lean build. If it is an athletic fit, I wear a size small. If it is a relaxed fit, I wear size xsmall. So in the Theta AR, I have an Xsmall; in the Gamma AR, Small; Fission SV, Small; and in the Hercules Hoody (Hyllus), Small. I am 5'3", 125lbs. I normally wear size XS-S in other companies. As long as you get the right size, you can't go wrong with Arcteryx!
Awesome jacket
I got this jacket from my husband. It's a great hoody, blocks the wind, repels water and looks great. I get compliments all the time. If you get one jacket, it has to be this one.
Bestest Jacket
True to size. Not too long. Dynamite jacket. I've had several Arc'teryx jackets for various extremes, but this jacket is the best all around. Can be layered or worn with thin shirt. Just as described. Warm in frigid temps, without overheating. Great for biking or casual rain gear. I don't like the bulk of a hood, but this one is unnoticeable. A bit pricey, but I plan on wearing it to my grave.
Great lightweight jacket or layer
Love this jacket! Fit is trim. I'm 5'4" and 125 lbs and the small is perfect. nicely insulates and blocks wind. I'm using for xcountry skiing and out and about on bluebird days here in Park City.
