You've been breaking a thigh deep powder trail up the valley approach for miles trying to make the Asulkan Hut. Breaking through the 'Wedge' the intensity of the storm picks up time to put on your Arc'teryx Rho LTW Long Toque. A longer version hat, you pull its wool/spandex knit low over your ears to block the bite. Soon its double layered headband warms some life back into your noggin. It's time to turn and run; today's not the day to press the edges of safety. Floating down through the trees you veer left to maximize the steepness. Creating a moving powder wave with a succession of turns, you question your sanity in the twitchy conditions, but not your choice of hat. Submerged, you come to the surface in the cool smoke just enough to sight a line through the forest. Kind of stupid in the classic avalanche conditions, but at least your Rho LTW Long Toque did its job. With embroidered Bird logo on the side; time to fly.

very warm and exellent quality, the long hat is exellent for strong wind . not good for rain condition (made of wool). for high mountain is exellend.very nice color.
Fantastic, and good for small heads
Yes this is a lightweight, thin beanie, that is in its name. This has been my exclusive beanie for backcountry skiing for 4 seasons. I use it alone or with an old Backcountry Windstopper softshell beanie as a 3 in 1. With it always stuffed in my touring pack, sometimes worn under a shell beanie, and generally abused.
