Best Shell ever...
Just returned from a ski trip over the Holidays and have to say that I am really glad that I had my Stinger with me. This jacket is an incredible shell and really performed when stepping off the gondola into the wind at the top of the mountain. With previous jackets I would have been looking for shelter and a place to warm up. Not with the Stinger, just zip it up and tuck your face into the high collar and your ready to go. This jacket does not have goose down or thinsulate so it is not an insulating layer, it is a shell. I had three light layers on underneath the Stinger and was ready for a full day of skiing. The quality and design are the best, and you will not be disappointed with the performance of the Arcteryx Stinger jacket. The only negative of this jacket is the cost, but then again you get what you pay for...

Rugged !
Great shell, and I mean shell as there is no insulation, but super rugged and bomb proof. Waterprooof zippers and plenty of thought put into this jacket. Plenty of room for layers. I bought an XL as i am 6'2", 190 lbs, but a large would fit fine if I wasn't going to wear layers. Made in Canada !

Waterproof!!
This jacket wll keep you very dry. However, It wont keep you warm. You will need something underneath to keep you warm. Otherwise, highly recommended !!! superlight and superdry!!

Great ski shell
Finally, this is a ski shell that is designed 100% for skiing and not for some kind of climbing/skiing/backcountry cross-over. High collar works for blocking out wind. The materials and cut are typical Arcteryx- bomber-proof, minimalist and simple. The sizing is on the generous side. I am a Large in other Arcteryx jackets, but Med Stinger fits me well and the Large is clearly too big. The only gripe is that the color palettee is limited and they don't make it in Red, that's appartently reserved to the CMH version.

Best Ski Outer ever
long time marmot fan, but couldnt resist the features of this shell...........it has held up to one season of "sierra sludge" snow as damp as it gets and did great. several small gripes......would have preferred a two way front zip to get a little extra thigh room, and a larger inside pocket to hold goggles but these are minor. this jacket totally rocks its wind and water proof and looks great as well!
