Great jacket
Another great jacket by Arcteryx , fits perfect , keeps you warm but not too hot , I also have the the Atom LT and would like the Atom Vest , buy they were out of size large, I will buy the vest whenever they get more
very light and warm
I already have the Atom LT hoody, the Atom LT jacket and the Atom LT vest and I use them all frequently in layering. I got the SV because I wanted lightweight but warm and wind resistant outerwear for Spring skiing. It works perfectly. It runs larger than the others but I still wear a medium (6' 160 lbs). When there is lots of moisture I wear it as a mid layer under the softshell Stingray jacket. One of my favorites!
great jacket
I really like versatility of the 100 grams of insulation. Works as a great layering piece or can be worn on its own for almost every day of the winter here in the Rocky Mountains. The jacket feels very light on. Packs down really small. The main zipper is very smooth. The elastic on the cuffs are perfect. The hand warmer pockets have a nice fleece patch for the back of your hands.
I love synthetic insulation
I had purchased the lighter Atom LT and loved it so much that I bought the SV model. This is a very nice product. The LT does not have draw strings for the hood, this one does. This hood is also helmet compatible. The SV fits a little looser than the LT so it allows for some layering. It is also warmer. I find that when I am not backpacking, I am reaching for my synthetic layers more than my down ones.
In fact, this insulated jacket is more suitable as a middle layer, it is very comfy and lightweight. As a outer layer, it is not very well for extreme bad weather. As for me, it 's not very durable . It does provide much warm in the winter, I am wearing this jacket inside a GoreTex hardshell.
