Midweight Polartec Thermal Pro tweed for easy layering in cool conditions.
Engineered for thermal warmth and superb moisture transfer, the Apache AR is a light insulating layer that's perfect alone on sunny days or layered beneath a waterproof and breathable shell when the skies let loose. It's made with a velour-like Polartec Thermal Pro tweed fabric for comfort and moisture management. The gusseted underarm sleeves make this a superb choice for skiing, snowboarding or hiking in cool weather conditions. Weight-saving laminated elbow patches help minimize wear from abrasion on the elbows, but you may want to layer the Apache beneath a shell if you plan on taking extended backpacking trips. Stick energy bars or your car keys in the laminated chest pocket and you're good to go.

Perfect Jacket
This jacket is great for anything. It fits well and is true to size. Perfect for when you need to grab something for a hike or even around town. The quality is amazing and durable.
Great multi purpose fleece
Arc quality fleece top which wears very well, a little thicker than the Delta line so it works well as a sweater in colder temps. Probably about a 200 in fleece thickness, works very well as a warming layer in a shell, the zip works great for shedding heat. I gave the durability a good but that is only because I have not had the fleece that long, Arc quality probably means it will last for a loooooong time. Fitting is typical, I need a xlarge even though I usually take a large size. I am very happy with this fleece and Altrec always make the shopping experience positive.
Perfect midlayer and it looks great
The Apache AR zip is a perfect midlayer to either go under a shell or by itself on milder days. I'm 6'1" 165 lbs with a 33 waist and the medium fit me perfectly. Although I usually buy a large for most products, with Arcteryx sizes, a medium fits better for me. I also tried the Patagonia R1 pullover. I liked the R1, but it wasn't quite warm enough for me. Also, I just liked the looks of the Apache AR much better than the Patagonia R1. This fleece looks like it is not going to ball very much except under harsh conditions. It does like to collect lint when the humidity is low.
Great for layering
I wear this pullover for layering in frigid conditions. It keeps you pretty warm, and it is not baggy at all. My only complaint is that the description on the website makes the pullover appear much browner than it actually is. Mine is more green than brown. The pullover is very refined and sophisticated, and I think I made a good purchase.
great ski sweater
This is a wonderful mid weight top - I use it as a middle layer under a ski jacket - its not too bulky and fits well under the ski jacket. It is loose fitting and not too long. I am a women's XL. but find the Men's Large is a better fit. with the zipper top - it softens the look and makes it great for me ( a woman) or my husband who wants to borrow it. Also love the pocket - easily fits a room key, credit card and a few dollars.
