If I take bus La Paz-Arica, where is it better to drop off to get easy Sajama National Park: Tambo Quemado o Lagunas village? At Lagunas village is it easy to get transport to Sajama village? How much time is walking?
And for return to la Paz, is it possible to get any taxi or transport en Sajama village to Curahuara de Carangas or Patacamaya?
Please, help me, it is very diffciult to get information!
I am looking at salt flat tours in Uyuni and am unsure how to choose an operator.
On the one hand, lots of places say I should watch out for cheap tour operators with broken vehicles and drunk drivers... on the other, some people say that it makes no difference and all the agencies share drivers anyway.
Some websites/operators will let me book a tour online but the Lonely Planet book says to ask returning tours for recommendations. Does that mean that I shouldn't book in advance? I'm…
Guys I've lost my cellphone and gopro in Lago Titicaca - Copacabana, near to the boats. Does anybody know a scuba diver in Bolívia? I'm looking for but can't find it. Or if anybody is going there to dive I can tell where I've lost it. Reward paid. Please help! I've got important documents in the gopro and also all the pictures of my trip. Thank you.
Truck operators are (once again!) threatening a protest with blockages on main roads from tomorrow, Monday. If this occurs long-distance 'buses will be affected.
Road access to Sucre may be the worst affected. The truck operators there seem particularly militant and are demanding the release of four leaders who have been arrested on a charge of causing economic damage to the cement factory during the last protest. However, it is probable that traffic to and from the airport will be allowed…
Hello travellers. Hola!
We spent 1.5 months in Bolivia, did a complete tour.
- UYUNI: salar+altiplano, 3 days tour, 100 € (all inclusive), same price ending in Atacama. Just book in Uyuni, easy!
- POTOSI, SUCRE: colonial towns, nice.
- LA PAZ: a different capital city. Take the public "teleferico" for the views.
- COPACABANA, ISLA DEL SOL, TITICACA: relax, hike, great hotels in Copacabana.
If you have time... Coroico, Rurrenabaque&Yacuma Tour (similar price than Uyuni, but we didn´t like so…
I'm planning my first solo trip to Latin America. I love city life, meeting new people, learning about different cultures, trying new foods and just plain old people watching. My plan is to go from Mexico City to Bolivia to Brazil to Argentina to Chile to Peru and then to Columbia.
My question is is Bolivia worth the time and expense. From what I've read it seems like no other place in the world. I'm worried however it will feel very isolating and rural. Would it be enjoyable for a woman…
Is Sopocachi a good location to stay in? Is it too far away? I can't tell from looking at various guidebooks whether it's a bit of a distance from main La Paz sights and whether it's too isolated. I'm looking for a mid-range hotel for myself (60 yrs old, solo traveler.) I don't need quite and calm, I'd like some street life and people. Thanks!
Please, is it there any direct public transport (minbuses, minivans, shared taxis....) from La Paz or El Alto to Curahuara de Carangas village?
And when we arrive in Curahuara de Carangas is it easy to get there a private taxi to Sajama? How much colud be?
Thank you very much
