Set on the hill overlooking town, this clean reliable option has firm beds, a fun central terrace and sketchy electric showers. Try to get a room with a view. Free bag storage and a book exchange add to the mix.
Hotel Wendy Mar
Everything about this excellent budget option is neat and orderly, from the hospital corner sheets to the spotless floors.
Surrounded by a 10.000 square metre private forest with direct access to Titicaca Lake, this picturesque eco-lodge offers both solar energy and electricity. Wi-Fi is free in common areas...

Hi Inka Pacha
Out on the holy "Isla del Sol" (Island of the Sun) in the Titicaca Lake, Hostelling International Bolivia presents the new HI-Hostel "Inka Pacha". Reaching the top of the island after having climbed the famous Inca Stairs from the South Port (1...
Ecolodge Copacabana is something a little different to what's available in Copacabana. While most of the town's hostels gather in and around the downtown center of Copacabana, the lodge is located in a quiet and peaceful location just 1...
To say too much about this place is to spoil the surprise, so we’ll merely give you a taste with a few simple descriptives: quirky, creative, stylish, ecofriendly, million-dollar vistas...
Inti Kala Hostal
Isla del Sol
This place has a massive deck and small, neat rooms. The terrace is a hit, but many complain about the service.
Isla del Sol
About 300m north of Yumani proper, this top choice has lovely grounds, simple (but workable) rooms – we like numero 3 the best – funky carved-wood bedstands and remarkably low ceilings. Work is underway to build new larger huts...
Ecolodge Del Lago
Situated 20 minutes on foot along the Costañera (or a quick taxi ride), this ecofriendly place, right on the lake in a wonderful nature paradise, offers a tranquil experience...
Isla del Sol
On the hill behind the beach at Cha’lla is the simple family-run Hostal Qhumphuri, a mustard-colored construction that offers clean rooms and meals for a bit more.
Hotel La Cúpula
International travelers rave about this inviting oasis, marked by two gleaming white domes on the slopes of Cerro Calvario, with stupendous lake views...
Inti Wasi Lodge
Isla del Sol
Four basic, but cozy cabins with en suites, smashing views and a recommended restaurant, Palacio de la Trucha, attached. To get here, turn right just before Hostal Illampu as you head up the hill.
Shabby, gaudy Hotel Ambassador has an altar in the entrance and a playground on the second storey. Dark, drafty and echoey, it nevertheless oozes eccentric charm. Pure mad Bolivia.
Hostal Inti Wayra
Isla del Sol
The amicable and rambling Inti Wayra affords great views from most rooms; these vary a great deal – some are larger and more open. This hotel isn't always open.
Alojamiento San José
This place is as rudimentary but as clean as they come – it’s always a good sign when the floors smell like a polish factory. Perfectly adequate for a budget traveler, although the claims of constant hot water are a little dubious.
Clearly a smart hotel in former days, this place – now a little tired but perfectly adequate – has color local TV, carpeted rooms, reliable hot water, a courtyard and a restaurant (breakfast costs extra)...
Hotel Chasqui Del Sol
A lurking beachfront behemoth with basic rooms, dirty towels and pretty damned good views. For the price, you can probably do a little better.
You can’t turn around in Copa without tripping over some kind of accommodation. One of the good budget bargains is Inca Roca. The cheapest alojamientos (guesthouses), around B$15 per person, are uphill from Plaza Sucre, on Calle Pando.
Hostal 6 De Agosto
A rosy and very central place with a sunny outlook over a garden and clean, if standard, rooms at dirt-cheap prices.
