Alcaldía museum
Upstairs in the town hall on the plaza there's the free Alcaldía museum containing a number of artifacts from the Inca Marka site near Laguna Chillata and an exhibit of old festival clothing.

Gruta de San Pedro
Although it's not the most spectacular of caves, a popular excursion is to the Gruta de San Pedro, 12km from town. You can swim in a lagoon inside the cave; it's not as cold as you might think. Although the attendant supplies a lamp, it's worth taking a torch, particularly if there are several of you. Insect repellent and plenty of water are also good ideas.
