Good dentist

Hi to you expats in La Paz on here, as my question is mainly directed to you.

Would any of you know a good dentist, preferrably a patient, friendly and gentle one, in La Paz? It's to have my 3-year old's teeth checked, and I'd like not leave her with a lifelong fear of dentists from her first visit.

If it would also be a dentist that doesn't charge an arm and a leg, it would be even better!

Thank you in advance,

Peter

Bus from Cusco to La Paz

Hi, we planned to fly from Cusco to La Paz, but Amazonsas doesn't have any tickets on our late December date.

Can you please advise the safe way to get from Cusco to La Paz.

It can be transfer solo OR a tour-like transfert. Either way would be fine, because plane isn't an option, but we need to get to La Paz.

Which company to use without risk to be mugged or crushed. (though I understand noone can guarantee, of course)

Thank you.

Climbing Licancabur

Hi everyone,

I will be in Bolivia at the end of October and, while I will take a standard tour of the Sur Lipez, I am tempted to do the ascent of Licancabur. However I was told the weather may not be favorable at this period of the year for such an adventurous thing. So I'd be curious to have your opinion on this.

Thanks for your help!

Please share your experience about the security of Bolivia

I am planning to travel Bolivia and I will travel alone. But I worry about the law and order of Bolivia. Expressed kidnapping, faked police, robbery or pickpocketing. It seems that it is very DANGEROUS to travel alone in Bolivia. I had my camera robbed in Argentina. That's why I have not been to South America for 3 years. Please tell me how safe it is to travel in Bolivia. Also, when I arrive at the airport in La Paz, how do I get to city centre? Any official taxi booth at the arrival hall? Is…

One Month Intinerary Advice

Hello all,

After volunteering and doing some traveling in Peru, I will have about a month to travel around Bolivia (with a quick side trip to Chile). I'm not one to plan every detail of my trip out, but with so much to offer and so little time, I figure it's best to have a rough intinerary. My idea for the time being is below:

Feb 8-10: Copacabana
Feb 11-13: La Paz
Feb 14-19: Uyuni tour
Feb 20-24: San Pedro de Atacama, Chile
Feb 25-27: Arica, Chile
Feb 28: La Paz
Mar 1-3: Potosi
Mar 4-6: Sucre…

Has anyone been to the the Flor del Sol residency in Buena Vista?

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone has heard of or gone to the Flor del Sol Artist Residency in Buena Vista, Bolivia? I've applied to it and I'm trying to find some information/reviews to determine its legitimacy and in general what the experience is like. I found it listed online here: http://www.resartis.org/en/residencies/list_of_residencies/?id_content=6375.

Any insights are greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

Santa Cruz to Vallegrande, Bus Times?? Rental Car bad idea??

Hi everyone,

Next month a friend and me are going to Bolivia for a couple weeks. We plan on going from Santa Cruz to Vallagrande, and from there to La Higuela as part of the Ruta de Che Guevara.

With this is mind, what are the bus times leaving from Santa Cruz to Vallagrande? Do they come regularaly or only at certain times? We're hoping to catch something in the early afternoon since we won't be arriving into Santa Cruz until late morning.

Also, I've heard that renting a car in Bolivia is…

Hello
Does someone know if there is buses/combi leaving from El Alto Airport to copacabana directtly ?

Otherwise, where do we have to take it in el Alto city ?
and until what time can we take it ? I read that there is a ferry to take to go to copacabana, and I don't know the last departures ?

And other question: does someone know at what time the boats leave from Isla del Sol, to Copacabana? and from where (north ? south ?)

Thank you in advance

What transportacion options are available for traveling to Peru along the East side of Lago Titicaca via Puerto Acosta and Moho? I have seen a few websites that describe the route on bicycle, but am wondering if it is possible using buses and combis.
