Today's newspaper carries a report that YF vaccination certificates will be checked for foreign travellers at border crossings
http://www.paginasiete.bo/sociedad/2017/2/13/salud-caso-fiebre-amarilla-origino-zona-selvatica-127139.html
This follows a case in the lowland area of northern La Paz. Spanish speakers may be struck, as I was, by the emphasis on a foreign traveller being affected and there being no local cases.
It might be prudent to assume that Bolivian border officials will be more…

Hi everybody,

I am travelling to Bolivia in September with wildlife viewing as a main interest.
Since I prefer to stay away from the crowds - as do the animals of course - I was looking into Barba Azul reserve.
More info: http://armoniabolivia.org/wildlife-and-bird-watching-holiday-in-boliva/

Prices are described clearly in the Eco Tourism leaflet:
The package for visiting Barba Azul Nature Reserve is 450 USD per person for a 3
night/4 day stay. Additional nights are 150 USD per person per night…

Hey everybody,

I am looking for people who would be interested in joining me to the San Miguelito Conservation Ranch.
I want to go from Wednesday 27th to Saturday 30th ( 4 full days).
The prices are per "group" (1 to 4 people) : $300/night
Transportation from/to Santa Cruz: $150
English Speaking guide: $50/day

So for 4 days that'd be $1250 for me as single.
2 persons: $625/ pp
3 persons: $415/ pp
4 persons: $312/pp

Approximately that is...
I would like to find at least 1 person to join.

Hey guys, I got my residency in late June of this year. I want to know when can I go on holiday and still come back with the valid residnecy? I want to be out for 89 days before I have to return to Bolivia in this calendar year. Is Oct3-Dec31 a valid period? It adds up to 89 days not including the last day. I think the rule is 90 days allowed outside Bolivia per calendar year. Have I understood it correctly?

Hey everyone, I am not sure if this is even a possible option, but is there an eco-lodge or other jungle accommodation in Madidi or nearby Rurre in general that allows people to pitch a tent instead of sleeping in beds? Also, a tour company that provides jungle tours I can join but sleep in my own tent nearby the lodge?

Hey everyone, is there a place to set up a tent for camping in Rurrenabaque that has showers, electricity, kitchen. I know there are some backpacker hostels but they seem to just offer dorms unless I am mistaken, is there anything else?

Hey everyone, is there an airline that flies to Rurrenabaque from either airport in Santa Cruz, preferably Trompillo? I don't mind changing planes in Trinidad, or Cochabamba. All I have found is a connecting flight via La Paz with Amazonas for $170 one way.

My boyfriend and I are heading to Bolivia in a couple of weeks and are trying to decide whether to do a 3 day tour of the salt flats, or just a 1 day tour. One reason we aren't sure is the fact we are travelling to Uyuni from La Paz, and returning to La Paz rather than continuing to Chile. We have read that a 3 day tour is only worth it if you are heading to Chile, but it didn't seem clear why. Another concern is it being too cold for a 3 day tour, we have read that you camp one night? But then…

Hi,

Planning o go to Bolivia from 16th September to 2nd October.

  1. Can anyone recommend a good 16 day itinerary for a solo traveler? My interests are Ruins, Natural geological wonders and interacting with new cultures.
  2. Cost of tour agencies for Salar and the Laguna Colorada. Should I book it when I'm in Bolivia or should it be done in advance? Any recommendations for tour agencies?
  3. Hostels recommended for solo travelers

Thanks,
Rohit

Just learned that this Sunday (July 16), which will be our second day in Bolivia, is a state holiday in La Paz. Does anyone know about any particular celebrations that occur in the city on this day? Thanks.
