Travel destinations: another list
Posted Sunday, November 19, 2006, 3:18 PM by Lonely Planet
Do you ever get sick of being told where to go?
Online booking engine Opodo has released their list of up-and-coming destinations for 2007.
Check it out:
1. Bulgaria
2. Russia
3. Morocco
4. Cuba
5. Australia
6. Brazil
7. India
8. Dubai
9. China
10. South Africa
Australia at number five in a list of up-and-comers is only marginally less funny than Morocco at number three. And China! It belonged on this list in 1979...
For the record, although we reckon Bulgaria is good, do your research on Paraguay, Georgia and Brunei and you might just find something a little less travelled.

Nice work Lonely Planet, getting a blog up and running. I've been wondering when you might have a go at it.
So please take this critique as positive feedback from somebody who wants to see your blog get better and better. I'm wondering why your blog has no categories, or any easy way of navigating between all the different posts?
Most blogs have a categories section, or at least some way of organising the information. And no archives? That's standard blog practice. What's up with you bucking that trend?
Anyway, have a look at some of your travel blog peers, you'll see what I mean: Far & Near, Gridskipper, Viator and Japan Probe.
Good luck, and keep it up.
I think it is very narrow minded and stupid of you to be laughing at the idea that people would/should visit some of these countries. Australia is quite possibly the most beautiful, diverse country in the world. Who are you to say it's a 'joke' that it's even on the list. I mean, Uluru is amazing, and where else can you experience the desert, many of the best beaches in the world, the country side and the cities?
NOWHERE
Australia has it all.
Deal with it.
Aussie, Aussie, Aussie. Oi, Oi, Oi!
CARN THE CATSSSSSSSSSSSS...they are going to kick the pies asses tonight!
