Lonely Planet Community Highlights : Tall stories

Tall stories

In our Thread of the Day, Thorn Tree community member Greenlaces wonders if "being tall is the worst thing when travelling", and makes a compelling argument.

"Tall people struggle for clothing, backpacks, on trains, planes and in buses, they suffer in Asia, most parts of South America, and New Zealand. They accept ridicule and abuse, and they also have to work extra hard reaching for things the rest of the population cannot... So next time you see a tall person don't just point and stare, walk right up, shake their hand and tell them, 'I'm standing shoulder to shoulder with you pal'."

Do tall travellers do it rough?

Are you a tall traveller? Do you agree? Or are you at the opposite end of the height spectrum and beg to differ? How do you measure up in today's Thorn Tree Thread of the Day
