Feel like taking a trip that makes a difference?
Following two highly successful tours to the village of Qelqanqa in Peru, World Expeditions is about to embark on a third on July 19. But these are tours with a difference. Travellers help Qelqanqa locals by helping them build them some community essentials - a drinking water system, a bridge for children on their way to school, a properly drained play area and a football pitch.
Participants spend four days in the mountain village, which sits between the great Urubamba River and the vast rainforests to the north of Cusco. On completion of the project the participant's adventure continues onto the legendary ruins of Machu Picchu.
All up the trip is 16 days; four of which are spent working on the Community Project, five trekking, eight nights camping and seven nights at a hotel.
