Luang Prabang - blessing or curse?

Our Thorn Tree community are firing up an interesting discussion about the visitor paradox facing Laotian city Luang Prabang.
The subject of a recent New York Times article, Luang Prabang is experiencing economic windfalls through tourism, but some charge the traveller invasion is sapping the spirit of the monks who've made it famous, and preventing them from practicing their faith and lifestyle at a practical level.
