What to do if you're asked for money in exchange for photographs of locals who might need the cash?
It's not uncommon for those travelling to have experienced this phenomenon, and it's highlighted neatly in this Thorn Tree discussion begun by Henrik2000.
When confronted with the notion that a group of Phillipino kids might have been asking for a payout after posing for pictures, Henrik asks: "Is it possible to generalise if they expect, or hope for, money after two fun snaps on the beach? Or, if they do ask for money, is it only kind of a joke? Or would you say most are really content with the little snapping event and don't think about money?"
