When we heard the polaroid's days were numbered, we knew something had to be done. So in the spirit of celebration, we ran a competition in search of the Thorn Tree community's best travel polaroids. And whaddya know - you charmed our socks off with a blizzard of instant travel snaps from all over the world.

Photo Competition - With City Views

The idea of City Streets may conjure up images of Bogart in a trench coat smoking moodily as steam rises from the New York subway, but when we offered this theme to the Thorn Tree photographers out there, they dealt us the unexpected. They snapped images that uncover the heart of the city, photos that celebrate the urban, candid shots that capture a moment in time and illuminate the special something which makes that destination unique.

The theme of the June Thorn Tree photo competition was Africa or Asia. Yep, it was pretty broad! We were looking for striking photographs that said something about these countries. Bluelist Competition Winners Take On Morrocco

What an opportunity! We bundled up the four winners of this year's Bluelist competition and shipped them off to Marrakesh for a week on the road with a Lonely Planet author. They donned their fezzes and hit the ground running, all in the name of learning the tricks of the guidebook trade. Everyone thinks it's so easy yeah?!
