I am considering a 5-6 day stay at Greenbank Cottages. The cottages are near Salt Kettle. the manager has been very helpful but I wonder if someone on the forum can help with a couple of questions. My basic concern is how convenient the Salt Kettle area is for getting around as a tourist... probably without a scooter. Ferry to Hamilton is often recommended as quite scenic? I could then ferry back or take a return taxi. But I also will want to visit the south shore beaches. Is there a semi direct…

Just a few posts back, cycling was recommended for getting around the island. Does anyone have recommendations about where to rent bicycles? On arrival close to the airport? Or around Hamilton or Saint-George?
Thank you for any tips / information.

Will be visiting Bermuda in April & would like to see a Gombey performance but have read that there are none before May. Is there anywhere we could see them?

It's true - there are no car rentals on Bermuda! So how does one get around?

Ferries and scooters or riding with a friend if you know someone who lives on the island! Ferries are cheap, some are $2.50-4 one way depending on which part of the island you're going to. Scooters average $60-50 per day but be careful, it's one way lanes on the island and narrow with many turns!

Think before you rent a scooter if you're comfortable riding. It is recommended you have ridden a motorcycle or a scooter…

I am trying to help a friend find accommodation as he is taking his teenage son to Bermuda for a week in December (not Christmas!). I am really struggling to find anywhere with twin beds so was hoping someone might have a good tip as to where to look - they really didn't want a big hotel so I was concentrating on apartments or guest houses that wouldn't break the bank. Found a few via Bermudarentals.com from an earlier thread on this forum and also checked out AirBnB - any other good…

We've been to Bermuda a couple times now and always like to try out different activities and restaurants when we go.

We're planning a day trip to the Hamilton area and were wondering what restaurants with a good view might be available? After a long day of snorkelling we want a good place to relax and eat.

We always stick to Jessie James Cruises for the snorkelling tour because they have the best prices and include the most within a day's excursion. We'll be choosing them again next time we go…

Hi

OK, bit of a daft question, and I know things alter, but in general, do you get a better view of Bermuda on final approach on the left or right hand side of the aircraft?

Thanks in advance

My wife's dad was born in Bermuda and was never able to go back, so she would like to. We are reasonably fit UK pensioners who like snorkelling and cycling and do not feel comfortable in smart hotels. We would prefer to go when it's not too hot and are used to 65F sea temperatures. Does anyone have experience of budget accommodation there?
Thanks.

I had such difficulty finding info about cycling in Bermuda prior to my visit that I thought that it would be useful to post something for fellow travellers.

Bermuda works out to be a great place to cycle for a few days. The whole island is about 22 mi long. The Railway Trail is very good, especially in the southern end. Pick up a map of the trail at the tourist info. Bermuda is very hilly despite its small size. I cycled on Sunday, which is probably the best day as the traffic is lighter…
