Lonely Planet review
About 400yd uphill from the town center, this is San Ignacio's most upscale spot (indeed, the Queen stayed here in '94). The lobby is graced with a gorgeous mahogany staircase, marble floors and huge bouquets of orchids and bromeliads. Family-sized suites comfortably house six, while standard rooms are more cozy. Rooms with private balconies offer a great view, and garden rooms open up directly into the hotel's lush garden. All rooms are newly renovated, and the large stone-tiled showers in the bathrooms are downright sexy. Green Iguana Exhibit tours leave every hour on the hour from the lobby. Also on site are a restaurant and bar, and next door is a casino for those in a gambling mood.
Our independent authors have visited San Ignacio Resort Hotel and selected this as one of our recommended accommodation in San Ignacio (Cayo).
