Cotton Tree Chocolate information
The chocolate center of the universe? A big claim you might say, but come on down and try some of Cotton Tree's chocolate and you may leave convinced. Owner and chief chocolatier Julie Puryear buys her beans from Toledo Cacao Growers Association, a local co-op of about 900 small growers, promoting both fair trade and local production. In addition to offering tours of her small factory (a fiendishly clever plan, if we do say so ourselves), Julie also has a small gift shop selling only locally made (and some chocolate-themed) handicrafts, including soaps, cacao-bean jewelry and other items.
