Lonely Planet review
Tucked away in a beautifully landscaped garden, the newly renovated Singing Sands offers an affordable ocean-side tropical oasis. Accommodations at Singing Sands consist of thatched-roof cabañas and garden-view rooms with hardwood floors, custom-designed doors and furniture made by local craftspeople. The bathrooms, with imported hand-painted sinks and tiles, are especially nice. The Korean aesthetics of the owners are especially felt at the table of the on-site restaurant (the Bonefish Grille), which, in addition to serving continental and Belizean dishes, also makes Korean dumplings, noodles, and other dishes linking the Placencia and Korean peninsulas. Fans of the Paleo diet will want to try the lettuce wrap (BZ$14), sauteed ground steak served on fresh lettuce wrap with sweet hoisin sauce – pure caveman delight! Energy-efficient LED lighting gives the Sands a warm nighttime glow. There's also a great swimming pool, beach, and free kayak use for guests.
Our independent authors have visited Singing Sands Inn and selected this as one of our recommended hotels in Placencia.
