Philip Usher's riverside resort has 13 rooms and three cabanas, all with air-con, fans & cable TV.
Spirit Wind is hands down the best spot for a romantic weekend getaway in Dangriga, with gorgeous cabanas on the south side of Stann Creek (about half a mile inland; call for directions).
This small well- run guesthouse fills up fast, so book ahead. With good, clean rooms in a pristine colonial-style building, it gets plenty of return visitors. All rooms have fans and hot showers, and some have cable TV.
Ruthie's comprises four pleasant, seaside, thatched-roof huts on the north side of Havana Creek. It offers hot and cold showers, plenty of coconut-tree shade and a chill and cheap place to stay in 'Griga.
Upper floors are not without charm, but the ones on the lower floor are dark and somewhat depressing. All rooms have two double beds, fan, air-con and cable TV.
Looking like a Colorado ski chalet (it’s the only place in this nation of homes on stilts that we’ve seen with a sunken living room), this nice little home-style hotel is clean and family owned.
Six miles out of Dangriga, this family owned plantation-style house has a charming B&B vibe about it. The doubles are more than comfortable, and the deluxe room (with its soaker tub) is positively decadent.
If it's upmarket you're looking for, the Pelican is basically your only choice. The north-side hotel is close to the airport and has spacious, clean rooms with TVs, phones and colorful local artwork.
The only hostel in town and a veritable Dangriga institution, Val's enjoys a large porch facing the park and a clean stretch of beach. The three dorm rooms are fan cooled with bunk beds and separate bathrooms with hot showers.
This hotel offers antiseptic rooms, hot showers, TVs and little in the way of charm. Not a bad choice for travelers on the cheap.
