Halfway october I will fly into Cancun, Mexico and head south towards Belize and Guatemala with a friend of mine. We are looking for a holiday mixing both activities and some party/lounging days. I've been to Yucatan/Quintana Roo before so we'll just do some highlights there and then onward south.
Currently on this itinerary. Please give us some suggestions about must-see tours and awesome accomodations/restaurans if you happen to have been there, it will be highly…
Hi all! I am arriving in Belize next week, and am spending about 9 days. This is my proposed itinerary, and I welcome any suggestions! I was originally going to catch buses and taxis, but I have come to the conclusion that a car might give me more freedom, and I found one for $35 a day using AQ. I was thinking of heading first towards Orange run, to tour the Lamanai ruins. I might stop at Maruba for one night, it looks lovely, but too expensive for a woman alone. While in the orange run area…
I'll be in Belize early September with a flight departing at at 12 midday.
How risky would it be (in terms of delays etc) to travel back from either Ambergris Caye or Caye Caulker that morning?
I know it's hurricane season....
Do people generally do this? Or tend to spend the night in Belize City?
Would anyone know of a furnished and equipped apartment or house in Belmopan which might be available for a stay of about ten days in February 2017? The two of us have visited Belize several times over the years, and now we'd like to see what it's like to live in Belmopan on our own.
Older couple, no parties, no pets, no especially bad habits.
Thanks in advance.
So this could turn into a buddy needed post, but here goes:
I am currently trying to book a few days of hiking through the Cayo region of Central Belize, but am running into obstacles because most tour companies need several people to book the tour. As I am traveling by myself, I don't have a group to go with and with it being the off-season, I am worried that I may miss out on this segment of the trip.
Are there tour/sightseeing companies that any one can recommend for a single individual…
we have reserved a week in the glovers atoll resort for January 2017- the inexpensive resort without electricity, small huts on the beach and over water, run by the Lomont family. The last online information is very outdated. Has anyobdy been there recently? News mainly regarding diving, location.
Would be grateful for any reply and advice.
Thanks and greetings from Vienna, Andrea
Arriving today for a week and hope to do some diving. Re dive shops, I'm aware of Belize Diving Services but there prices are a bit more $$ when I add the cost of gear. Anyone comment on Frenchies or any other dive shops on CC? Also, with 5-6 days to dive, any suggestions of how to prioritize the dive sites? I'm Open Water Cert., but prefer to dive not much more than 60'-80' so not interested in Blue Hole.
Looking at spending about 10 days in Belize with husband and family. (3 and 5 yr old). Thinking of San Ignacio (Jungle Lodge), and ambergris caye. But flexible with location as reliability with my husband being connected for work is key. I have been reading that the internet is fairly slow in Belize. Are there places where we are more likely to get high speed internet? Our second option is Panama. Really I just want to go away and am fine to go where ever. I just have to…
I'm trying to find out what Earl did to Belize. From what I can tell so far, San Pedro was hit very hard. I also saw pictures of washed out bridges near Melchor de Mencos. Is anyone there able to tell us what happened in other parts of the country? IT appears that in the south the damage was not too bad?
