Lonely Planet review
This longtime budget favorite, in a central but rough-and-tumble neighborhood, has suffered in recent years from a lack of maintenance and an excess of noise, but at the time of research, friendly and enthusiastic new managers were working to get the place back into shape. Its mellow vibe fits its classic two-storey wooden Caribbean exterior (painted in a very groovy lilac and white). Rooms are adequate, if on the small side, and they have all benefitted from fresh coats of paint and a little TLC. There's a breezy verandah that faces the sea, and welcoming chill-out spots on the 1st and 2nd floors. Great meals are available for a nominal charge.
