Lonely Planet review

This very discreet boutique mansion-hotel exudes an exquisitely tasteful understated elegance. Rooms feature carrara marble, underfloor heating, Moroccan plaster, DVD players and fresh orchids, while some also have exposed beams or old brick-tile floors. A swish new wellness centre hides in the subterranean caverns, and the rooftop view is a well-kept secret. On arrival, don't be put off by the oddly underwhelming street facade.

Our independent authors have visited Hotel Julien and selected this as one of our recommended hotels in Antwerp.
