Lonely Planet review for Brasserie de la Roue d’Or
If you’re hankering for hearty Belgian fare (rabbit, pigs’ trotters and the like), follow the locals’ lead and head to the ‘Golden Wheel’, where the décor is inspired by the city’s surrealists.

horrible service
Giupa does not recommend this,
Made our (2 persons) reservation for 20h30 and were left to wait until 21h, standing next to the door, without even being offered to sit somewhere or to drink something while waiting. At 21h, my friend politely enquired about when it would have been possible to have our table and the blonde manager flipped! It was quite embarassing (for her). She started shouting at my friend, saying that if we didn't like how things were, we could leave! My friend tried to calm her down but she was out of her mind, and yalled that she would not serve us anymore. Other customers and waiters looked shocked too to her performance.
I never experienced anything like that before and it was so horrible that it almost turned hilarious in the end :-)
We happily left and will never go back! -
Terrible - don't waste your time

My partner and I made a reservation for 9pm on a Saturday night, showed up 10 minutes early, and then didn't get a table.
We waited patiently, as I believe in being polite and the restaurant was very busy, but apparently this is not the way to get seated in this restaurant. The incredibly rude blonde maitre d did not give us any information and then when other people got in her face she seated them before us - this was the final straw for us, and we ended up leaving hungry about 9.35pm (I should also add when I pointed out that we had been waiting the longest and should get the next table, the maitre d shouted at me!). By the time there was about 20 people queueing behind us (and at least 6 had already given up and left) as they had booked in even more people for 9.30pm. It really ruined our night and was a blight on what was otherwise a lovely weekend away.
So I implore anyone not to even try this restaurant, but if you do apparently the only way to get a table is to bitch and moan at the maitre d.
Oh, and if you are looking for a restaurant nearby, please try Les Chapeliers just down the street - we went there for lunch the next day and had a lovely meal - great food, wonderful service
